Boxed Wine is Really Good. Believe it. My wife had some friends over, and I served Bota Box Pinot Grigio. It’s a three-liter box and sells for $16.99 on sale every day at Seneca. I was the test generation for the metric system, and we failed, so you can blame my generation for not using the metric system as does the rest of the world. The 3-liter box is really four bottles of 750ML wine. Each 3 Liter box will get you about 20 glasses of wine. Many people don’t realize that not only is boxed wine a great value, what’s inside the box is really good. My wife’s friends kept asking, “where is the bottle, I’d like to see it.” I didn’t show them the “bottle” until the end of the night. They were shocked that they liked the taste.
I told them boxed wine is environmentally friendly, and the wine stays fresh in the box for weeks because air doesn’t penetrate it because inside the box is a plastic bladder that only lets wine out, keeps air out.
I have favorites when it comes to boxed wine. Bota Box and Black Box are my two favorites. Barefoot has recently entered the boxed wine arena with some offerings of their best varietals inside of boxes. You can’t discuss boxed wine without talking about Franzia. This wine is the top selling wine in the United States. Franzia sells more volume of wine than any other single producer in the US.
Think outside the bottle and jump into a box for taste, for the environment and for your enjoyment especially at your next occasion or celebration.
